Our Mission: Keep People in Therapy

We believe that financial barriers should not dictate the length or quality of mental healthcare.

recoupr was born from a simple, frustrating observation: too many people drop out of therapy not because they want to, but because they can no longer afford it. This is especially true in private-pay settings, where clients pay upfront and are left to navigate the bewildering world of out-of-network claims on their own.

We saw the administrative burden this placed on clients and the resulting instability it created for therapy practices. Therapists go into practice to help people, not to become insurance experts. And practices that choose a private-pay model do so to protect their clinicians from that very burden.

We started recoupr to solve this problem by focusing on a single, core principle: protecting continuity of care.

Our platform is designed from the ground up to empower clients to get the money back they are rightfully owed by their insurance companies. By making this process simple and transparent, we reduce financial drop-off, allowing people to stay in therapy and get the full benefit of their work.
